Every year, thousands of people go to the emergency room from falls during holiday decorating. It's one of the most consistent seasonal injury statistics out there.
We take this seriously — not just for liability reasons, but because we've seen what can go wrong.
The problem with DIY ladder work
Most homeowners don't have the right ladder for their home. A standard 6-foot step ladder doesn't cut it for a two-story roofline. Extension ladders require training to use safely, especially on uneven ground or near gutters.
Add in the fact that people are usually working alone, often in a hurry, and frequently dealing with tangled lights and awkward angles — and you've got a recipe for falls.
What we do differently
We use commercial-grade ladders rated for the weight and height we're working at. Every crew member is trained on ladder safety and we always work in pairs — one on the ladder, one on the ground. Nobody goes up alone.
We're also insured. If something goes wrong (it hasn't, but still), you're covered. If a homeowner falls on their own property doing this work, they're on their own.
The ask
When we're on your property, please don't climb up to "help" or check our work. We know it comes from a good place, but it creates risk. Wait for the final walkthrough and we'll show you everything from the ground.
You hired us so you wouldn't have to do this. Let us do it.
